The Ultra Randonneur Award is for RUSA members who have ridden ten (10) Super Randonneur series. The Super Randonneur (SR) series of brevets (200 K, 300 K, 400 K and 600 K in a calendar year) that are used to qualify for the Ultra Randonneur Award need not be in consecutive years, nor is there a time limit on how long it takes to accumulate the ten seasons of randonneuring. It is possible to also earn more than one SR series per year.

Riders can apply with either ACP or RUSA brevets, and a longer event can be substituted for a shorter event (e.g., a RUSA 230 K brevet could be used in lieu of an ACP 200 K brevet. Another possible example could be having two events of the same distance, so this rider's SR series would be 200 K, 400 K, 400 K, and 600 K instead of the normal progression.) Standard brevets on the RUSA and ACP calendars are the counting events; team events, such as the Fleches-USA, cannot be used for this award, nor can permanents. However, longer events such as ACP or RUSA 1000k brevets or RM-sanctioned 1200k events can be used as substitutes for shorter brevets missing from the normal sequence.

Riders can apply for the Ultra Randonneur by showing proof of having completed an SR series. They could use photocopies of old brevet cards, or a print-out of their records on the RUSA data base for events since 1999. If a rider has a verified Paris-Brest-Paris entry/finish from before 1999, or SR medal, that could be used in lieu of missing brevet cards for that season.
