This form calculates the opening and closing times for RUSA-sanctioned permanents. (March 2018) The closing times for controls at less than 60km from the start have been relaxed in accordance with the ACP calculations. A discussion of the specifics maybe be found here. The minimum and maximum speeds for permanents are constant for the duration of the ride. These are defined by the following table:

Event Distance (km) Minimum speed Maximum speed
100 - 69915 km/hr30 km/hr
700 - 129913.3 km/hr
1300 - 189912 km/hr
1900 - 249910 km/hr
2500 and up200 km/day

STEP 1: Indicate the permanent distance, starting date, and starting time.

If you are submitting a permanent route for approval, check this box and omit the Starting Date and Starting Time below. This will generate a generic schedule in days, hours, and minutes of elasped time.

Notes:
  • If preparing a sample control card for approval, times are shown as Dd,Hh,Mm, where D, H, and M are the number of days, hours, and minutes of elapsed time from the start. Otherwise, times are shown in a 24-hour format; for example, 2:00 AM is shown as 02:00 and 5:45 PM is shown as 17:45.
  • It is assumed that all checkpoints are located within the same time zone.
  • The output is displayed as simple text for easy cutting and pasting.
