  1. Super Randonnee (SR) Program Update

    The board discussed an updated list of rules sent by Sophie Matter. Items remaining to be resolved were insurance, the procedure for approving routes and validating ride completions, and some rule variances to suit conditions in the US. John Lee Ellis suggested that we require riders to be RUSA members and use the same insurance arrangement as we use for permanents. He also indicated that the most important programming items needed for the program launch are 1) for riders to be able to obtain the data to approach route owners and 2) for riders to see their results on the RUSA web site. Jim Kuehn noted that result submission software for SR routes is ready.

  2. Member Handbook

    Mike Dayton noted that the current supply of member handbooks will likely run out in June or July. The cost for more books ranged from a high of $7.33 each for reprinting 200 copies of the old version to a low of $2.57 each to print 5000 copies of a new version. Mike Dayton and Bill Bryant had looked through the old handbook and felt that it was time to do a new edition, which would add a new chapter on electronic devices and GPS. A goal was set to have a new version of the handbook laid out by June.

  3. RUSA Facebook Page

    The board discussed a draft set of guidelines for deleting irrelevant or abusive posts from the RUSA Facebook page. Mark Thomas noted that it is not a public forum, but rather our space to use for promotion of randonneuring. The board decided that we should feel free to delete irrelevant and/or abusive posts if necessary, but that no such posts had appeared yet, and a set of specific guidelines were not necessary at this time.

  4. Treasurer Report

    Treasurer Eric Vigoren reported that RUSA is in good financial shape and provided figures for what the organization has on hand in CD, cash accounts, and store inventory.

  5. Newsletter

    Newsletter editor Paul Rozelle noted that the February issue is out. Future newsletters will be designated as Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, rather than by month. He said he would like to see more good submissions for the "What we Ride" section.
